In November 2021, I joined the IRL REHABS to continue my current research and develop a project on the historical adaptation of chacma baboon populations.

Master student working on the environmental adaptation of Plamsoidum vivax and Plasmodium falciparum. 2021
PhD student, co-supervision with Franck Prugnolle and Michael Fontaine. Her research project is on the study of the evolutionary history and adaptation of Plasmodium parasites (ANR MICETRAL funding). 2021-2024.
Elizabeth joined our team beginning of February to develop a project on the impact of urbanization of the diet of chacma baboons in the Garder Route region.
Locadia is studying the phenotypic variations of chacma baboons along a gradient of southern African biomes. Her work will include camera trap data analysis as well as field missions to collect pictures for morphological and colour studies;
Nicholas honor's project is on "Using camera trap data to determine Chacma Baboon (Papio ursinus) behavioural responses to predation risk."
Célia PhD's project is on "The consequences of anthropogenic diet on chacma baboon's microbiome and health."

HEAT (Health, Emergence, Adaptation and Transmission)
Between 2018 and 2021, I have been responsible for the team SHAPE and then HEAT which was composed of 8 permanent staff and 2 to 8 non-permanent persons (engineers, students, postdoc, etc.). I organised weekly meetings in order to optimise the implementation of protocols and future manipulations on the various projects, and two larger meetings per year where each member of the team was asked to present his or her research work (including the ITAs) in front of the whole team and some guests. We also implemented the first team website: https://mivegecshape.wordpress.com/.
